Hoạt động nhẹ hơn nhiều so với Adobe Photoshop nhưng Photo-Brush lại hỗ trợ hầu như là tất cả các công cụ có tính năng tương đương dùng để biên tập, hiệu chỉnh ảnh hay thêm vào các hiệu ứng để xóa bỏ những khuyết điểm cũng như tăng cường chất lượng hình ảnh cần chỉnh sửa.
Sau khi hoàn tất quá trình cài đặt, chương trình sẽ tự khởi động. Ở lần chạy đầu tiên, Photo-Brush sẽ tiến hành tìm kiếm và chép nội dung các Plug-in tồn tại trên máy tính kể cả các Plug-in được cài đặt vào các chương trình xử lý ảnh như: Adobe Photoshop làm thành Plugs-in hoạt động tốt trên chính Photo-Brush. Đây là điểm rất đặc biệt và rất hay của chương trình. Khi hoàn tất Photo-Brush sẽ thông báo cho bạn biết.
Là một trình biên tập ảnh nên Photo-Brush có đầy đủ tất cả các tính năng có khả năng hiệu chỉnh, thay đổi hay các hiệu ứng tương tự như trình Adobe Photoshop. Các mục, biểu tượng cũng được thiết kế lại trông đẹp và hợp lý hơn. Thao tác trong Photo-Brush không khác gì so với trong Adobe Photoshop vì thế bạn không cần phải mất nhiều thời gian cho việc làm quen với chương trình.
Bên cạnh đó, Photo-Brush còn cung cấp hai thành phần với rất nhiều hiệu ứng nhỏ bên trong là Retouch và Effect (ở khung bên dưới) sẽ giúp bạn dễ dàng chỉnh sửa cũng như tạo hiệu ứng đặc biệt cho ảnh chụp mà không cần phải trải qua nhiều thao tác phức tạp.
