Home Plan Pro có chức năng tương tự như AutoCad nhưng dễ dùng hơn nhiều. Tuy có tên là Home Plan Pro nhưng tiêu chí của chương trình là phục vụ cho dân không chuyên về lĩnh vực vẽ kỹ thuật.
Thao tác vẽ khá đơn giản, các nút công cụ dễ dùng. Khi nhắp chuột phải vào một nút công cụ, chương trình sẽ hướng dẫn cặn kẽ cách sử dụng nút này bằng chữ cũng như bằng hình. Nếu bạn đã từng sử dụng một vài phần mềm đồ họa thì bây giờ chỉ cần bỏ ra một vài giờ tìm hiểu là bạn có thể tự lập bản vẽ thiết kế cho ngôi nhà của mình, từ vẽ phối cảnh cho đến các bản vẽ chi tiết. tương thích với Win9x/ME/NT.

Home Plan Pro provides a full array of graphic tool buttons to let you easily pick a tool or action. Once you choose a tool, Home Plan Pro tells you how to use it. You may use the mouse or keyboard, or both, to create your plan.
Home Plan Pro gives you many choices for printing your plans. You may select a specific scale, or elect to have your plan printed at the largest size that will fit on the paper you select.
