MilkShape 3D là một công cụ dựng hình 3D khá dễ sử dụng (so với 3Dsmax và Maya thì dễ hơn nhiều), có thể import cũng như export ra nhiều định dạng file khác nhau như MD2, mds, ....v.v.v..... Có điều MilkShape ko hỗ trợ chia UV, và vì thế nên nó được dùng để sửa model nhiều hơn là dựng model. Tuy vậy ,bạn hoàn toàn có thể sử dụng nó, nhanh gọn và hiệu quả.

MilkShape 3D allows the easy creation and manipulation of polygonal characters and objects through the use of tools which are both intuitive and easy to access.
MilkShape 3D is a low-polygon modeler, which was initially designed for Half-Life. By and by many file formats and features have been added.
MilkShape 3D has all basic operations like select, move, rotate, scale, extrude, turn edge, subdivide, just to mention a few. MilkShape 3D also allows low-level editing with the vertex and face tool. Standard and extended primitives like spheres, boxes, cylinders, etc. are available too.
MilkShape 3D is a skeletal animator. This allows to export to morph target animation like the ones in the Quake model formats or to export to skeletal animations like Half-Life, Genesis3d, Unreal, etc.
MilkShape 3D currently supports 70 different file formats!
This is mainly a bugfix release with a few little helpful new features requested by forum.
Here is what's new:
• fixed: it's now possible to enter a pivot in the TCE
• fixed: initial normals for create plane, create cylinder and create face
• added: save/load TCE settings and window placement
• added: SDK functions: msMaterial_Set/GetDiffuseTextureWidth/Height
• added: play sound, when pressing the delete group button
